He’s a game she never intended to play.

And she’s the game changer he never knew he needed. The Perfect Game tells the story of college juniors, Cassie Andrews & Jack Carter. When Cassie meets rising baseball hopeful Jack, she is determined to steer clear of him and his typical cocky attitude. But Jack has other things on his mind… like getting Cassie to give him the time of day.

They’re both damaged, filled with mistrust and guarded before they find one another (and themselves) in this emotional journey about love and forgiveness. Strap yourselves for a ride that will not only break your heart, but put it back together.

Sometimes life gets ugly before it gets beautiful…

My heart belongs to you. And I’m not asking for it back even if you don’t want it anymore. I’m just asking for the chance to have yours again. I promise I’ll be more careful with it this time.

I stumbled upon this book while searching for newly released books. To my surprise, I found out that Jillian Dodd wrote a review about it. So I immediately loaded it on my phone to read.

I’m not particularly impressed by the cover but that could be improved.

I absolutely loved this book. I love the characters even the minor ones. I love the twists.

Cassie Andrews is a stunning blonde beauty standing 5’8″. She loves photography and the only person immune to Jack’s charms. I really had a good time reading her witty banters with Jack. She has some daddy issues which makes trusting difficult for her so I think trusting and falling in love with Jack was really a big leap for her.

Jack Carter is a really talented baseball player who had a great future ahead of him. I kind of did not like him at first. Who would want to get involve in a relationship with this one when he always sleep around with a different girl every night?

But when he met Cassie, he changed 180 degrees and became the doting and devoted Jack.

Dean and Marissa. Oh I love these two. I hope Sterling will also write a book about them.

The scene during their first date when Jack gave her a bag of quarters just to touch her is so adorable. I felt like

Then Chrystle, the bitch, came in the picture and almost ruined everything. I was like

I was so glad when Jack kicked her out of the house.

I absolutely loved the last chapters which narrates jack’s efforts to pursue Cassie. His idea was brilliant and very touching. i hope I’ll be able to experience this too. Haha!So guys, just to give you an idea. He sent packages to her apartment.

  • The first box has a note that says, “I can’t live without your touch. You’ll see that I’ve provided enough money to pay for at least twenty years or so.” The box contained quarters. This is really cute because it reminded Cassie of the good times they’ve shared.
  • The second box has a note that says, “Your passion is really inspiring.I can’t live without the way you use it to see the world.” It contained the recent photos she took which were all posted on the magazine’s website where she works. One thing I can say is, Jack really knows the way into a woman’s heart.
  • The third box has a note that says, “Your mind is filled with tests and goals and reasons why you should always say no. But I can’t live without you and there are reasons why you should say yes.” It contained her rules printed and framed. Also attached is a note explaining what he did with a sentence about forgiving. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
  • The last box contained a letter. Let me share it to you.

Letting go of someone who owns your heart is hard. Sometimes holding on to that person is even harder. I know I’m not the easiest person to love, but you are. It’s not that I can’t live without you; it’s that I don’t want to. There’s a difference. We all make choices in life and I choose you.

My heart belongs to you. And I’m not asking for it back even if you don’t want it anymore. I’m just asking for the chance to have yours again. I promise I’ll be more careful with it this time.

Love Always,

The epilogue was great. I guess they deserve a happily ever after, after all that they’ve been through.

For those who have loved Beautiful Disaster, try this book and you won’t regret it.

Quotable Quotes

Have you ever noticed how pretty and beautiful words can be? How easy it is to say the things you think someone wants to hear. How can you affect a person’s entire day with just a few measly sentences? But when you don’t follow up with any action, they’re completely pointless. They’re just sounds and syllables. But they mean absolutely nothing.

I never realized how exhausting it was to turn women away. It was one thing to hook up with them and then call it a day, but to be off the market completely was something I’d never dealt with before. To put it simply, girls don’t like being rejected, especially if it’s because of another girl.

She seriously looked like a fucking angel. And I wanted to be her devil.

No relationship can survive without trust, honesty, and communication, no matter how close you are.

There will come a time in your life when you lose something that matters to you. You’ll fight for it and you won’t win. But what really matters isn’t the war you’re waging, it’s that you don’t lose the person you are in the midst of the battle.

We’re all scarred. That’s how we know we’ve lived a life worth fighting for. Love is a battlefield.

I’m just saying that sometimes letting go is the only way to find out who you’re meant to hold on to.
